Game Maps IRL: Mapco Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Murat Sait Dogan, operating as MSD Studio (“MSD Studio,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), handles information when you use the Game Maps IRL: Mapco iPhone, Apple Watch, or CarPlay application (collectively, “Game Maps IRL: Mapco”) or visit https://msdstudio.org (the “Website”).

MSD Studio is the controller of the information it handles directly. Some features rely on Apple and Mapbox, which process information under their own privacy terms as described below.

1. Summary

Game Maps IRL: Mapco does not require an MSD Studio account.
We do not sell personal information, show third-party advertising, or use personal information for cross-app tracking or targeted advertising.
Saved places and the 20 most recent destination searches are stored locally on your device. Cloud synchronization is disabled.
Game Maps IRL: Mapco does not store a first-party copy of your live route or ordinary navigation history on MSD Studio servers. The current app does not record your drives as trip history.
When you use maps, place search, route calculation, traffic-aware navigation, rerouting, or voice guidance, the information needed for those features is sent to Mapbox.
Premium subscriptions and payments are handled by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your full payment-card or bank-account details.

2. Information handled by Game Maps IRL: Mapco

With your permission, Game Maps IRL: Mapco processes your device’s precise or approximate location, location accuracy, speed, course, heading, and timestamps. Game Maps IRL: Mapco uses this information to show your position, search near you, calculate and preview routes, provide turn-by-turn and voice guidance, reroute you, estimate arrival information, and continue navigation that you started while the screen is locked or another app is open.

Game Maps IRL: Mapco asks for location access when you use a location-dependent feature, not simply because you opened the app. Background location is used only for an active navigation session you started and stops when you arrive or end navigation. Game Maps IRL: Mapco does not request “Always” location access. Precise location is needed for reliable turn-by-turn guidance; without it, some navigation features may be unavailable or less accurate.

Game Maps IRL: Mapco uses Mapbox Maps, Search, Navigation, Directions, and voice services. Requests to Mapbox may include precise location, origin and destination coordinates, route progress, search text, selected search results, travel mode, language, device and operating-system information, network information such as IP address, SDK identifiers, and service-usage information. Mapbox may also receive de-identified location and usage telemetry through its mobile SDKs to operate and improve maps, directions, travel times, and related services.

Mapbox states that its location telemetry is not used for advertising and does not include mobile advertising identifiers. You can use the Mapbox attribution/information control shown on Game Maps IRL: Mapco maps to review attribution and opt out of Mapbox location telemetry. Turning off iOS Location Services for Game Maps IRL: Mapco also stops new device location from being made available to the app, but location-dependent features will no longer work as intended. Searches, destinations, and saved places

Place-search text, nearby-search categories, approximate or precise search proximity, and selected results are sent to Mapbox to return suggestions and places. Game Maps IRL: Mapco stores up to 20 recent destination results locally on your device. A recent result may contain a place name, address, coordinates, category, Mapbox place identifier, distance, and search time. Older recent searches are automatically replaced. You can clear recent searches in the app.

Places that you choose to save, including a Home or Work label, are stored locally until you delete them or delete the app’s data. Saved-place records may contain the label you choose, place name, address, coordinates, category, provider identifier, and creation date. Do not assign a sensitive label to a saved place if you do not want that label stored on your device.

Subscription and purchase information

Apple processes purchases and subscriptions. Game Maps IRL: Mapco receives limited StoreKit information needed to display products and determine access, such as product identifier, subscription status, eligibility for an introductory offer, expiration date, and whether a transaction is verified, refunded, or revoked. Apple does not give us your complete payment-card or bank-account details. Apple’s handling of this information is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.

App preferences and technical information

Game Maps IRL: Mapco stores preferences on your device, such as the selected map world, onboarding status, voice-guidance choice, instruction language, and a local cache of Premium access status. The app may produce operating-system logs needed for security, reliability, troubleshooting, and support. MSD Studio does not currently use a separate first-party analytics or advertising SDK in Game Maps IRL: Mapco. Apple may independently provide aggregated App Store, sales, crash, or performance information to developers under Apple’s terms.

Apple Watch and CarPlay

If you use the Apple Watch companion, the paired iPhone sends current navigation instructions, route progress, selected map-world information, saved places, and recent destinations to the watch through Apple’s WatchConnectivity framework. This communication is intended for your paired devices; the watch does not contact Mapbox directly.

If you use CarPlay, Game Maps IRL: Mapco displays and controls the same navigation session through Apple’s CarPlay frameworks. Location and route requests still use the providers described in this Policy.

Support communications

If you email us or otherwise request support, we receive the information you provide, such as your email address, message, screenshots, and diagnostic details you choose to send. Please do not send precise location history, payment information, passwords, or other unnecessary sensitive data.

3. Website information

When you visit the Website, the hosting or security provider may automatically process ordinary server-log information such as IP address, date and time, requested page, referrer, browser type, device type, and error or security events. We use this information only to deliver, secure, and maintain the Website, unless a separate cookie notice says otherwise. MSD Studio does not use this information for cross-site advertising.

If the Website offers a contact form, we process the details you submit to answer your request. We do not knowingly collect payment information through the Website for Game Maps IRL: Mapco subscriptions.

4. Why we process information

Depending on where you live, our legal bases are:

performing the service you request, including search, routing, navigation, support, and Premium access;
your consent, including the location choice you make in iOS;
our legitimate interests in securing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving Game Maps IRL: Mapco and the Website, where those interests do not override your rights; and
compliance with legal obligations and the establishment or defense of legal claims.

We do not use precise location, saved places, or search history for advertising.

5. When information is disclosed

We disclose information only as needed for the purposes above:

Mapbox receives the map, search, routing, navigation, voice, device, network, and telemetry information described in Section 2.
Apple handles App Store distribution, StoreKit purchases and subscriptions, operating-system permissions, Apple Watch connectivity, CarPlay, and developer reports.
Website hosting and security providers process the limited Website data needed to deliver and protect the Website.
Professional advisers, authorities, or transaction parties may receive information where reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights and safety, obtain legal or accounting advice, or complete a merger, financing, reorganization, or sale, subject to appropriate safeguards.

We require service providers that process information on our behalf to protect it consistently with this Policy and applicable law. Apple and Mapbox may also act as independent controllers for some processing under their own notices.

6. Retention and deletion

Live location and route progress are kept in app memory only as needed for the current session; MSD Studio does not retain a first-party server copy of ordinary navigation sessions.
Up to 20 recent destination results remain on the device until replaced, cleared, or the app’s data is deleted.
Saved places and preferences remain on the device until you delete them, reset the relevant setting, or delete the app’s data.
StoreKit records are retained by Apple under Apple’s policies. Game Maps IRL: Mapco retains only the local entitlement state needed to provide access and refreshes it from StoreKit.
Support correspondence and legal records are kept only as long as reasonably needed to answer the request, maintain security, resolve disputes, and satisfy legal obligations.
Website logs are kept according to the hosting/security provider’s configured retention period and only as long as reasonably necessary for delivery and security.
Mapbox retains information it receives according to its own privacy policy.

To delete local Game Maps IRL: Mapco data, use the app’s available clear/delete controls or delete the app and its data from your devices. Deleting the app does not cancel an App Store subscription; subscriptions must be managed through your Apple Account.

7. Your choices and rights

You can:

allow, limit, or revoke Game Maps IRL: Mapco’s location access in iOS Settings;
opt out of Mapbox location telemetry through the Mapbox attribution/information control on the map;
clear recent searches and delete saved places in Game Maps IRL: Mapco;
manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple Account’s subscription settings; and
contact us to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability where applicable law provides those rights.

Because Game Maps IRL: Mapco has no MSD Studio account and most app data is stored only on your device, we may not possess information that can identify or be returned to you. We may ask for reasonable verification before acting on a rights request. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.

8. International processing

Apple, Mapbox, Website providers, or their subcontractors may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Where required, they and MSD Studio use recognized safeguards for international transfers. Review the linked provider policies for details about their locations and transfer mechanisms.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information. No transmission, device, or storage system is completely secure. Protect your device with a passcode and keep iOS and Game Maps IRL: Mapco up to date.

10. Children

Game Maps IRL: Mapco is a general-audience navigation application and is not directed to children below the minimum age at which they may independently consent to data processing in their country. We do not knowingly collect a child’s personal information through an MSD Studio account because Game Maps IRL: Mapco does not offer such accounts. If you believe a child has sent personal information to us through support or the Website, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy to reflect changes in Game Maps IRL: Mapco, providers, or law. We will post the updated version at the same public location and change the effective date. If a change materially affects your rights or our use of information, we will provide additional notice where required.
